Characteristics polyester matrix composite reinforced hybrid Musa acuminata stem-Hibiscus tiliaceust bark fiber as rear vehicle bumper material

In this study characterizing the polyester matrix composite material reinforced with hybrid fibers (Musa acuminata stem fiber (MASF)-Hibiscus tiliaceus bark (HTBF). The aim is to increase impact toughness and shrinkage due temperature changes. length 10 cm, arranged randomly, volume fraction ratio of MASF HTBF 5%:25%, 10%:20%, 15%:15%, 20%:10%. was treated alkali by soaking it in 5% NaOH solution for 2 days. used BQTN type 157 catalyzed MEKPO. To determine degradation, tests thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) were carried out. Specimens prepared vacuum infusion method. results indicate highest 0.102 J/mm2 at MASF-HTBF 20 %:10%. If exceeds 20%, collision energy will again decrease. Based on TGA test specimens best heat resistance reinforcement ratio: MASF, lowest weight loss about 73.16%.
